Greek inhabitants want more green spaces, better transport, inclusion

Participatory budgeting – the democratic tool allowing citizens to decide how to spend a part of the municipal budget – has not yet been implemented in Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece. Yet, its inhabitants would be open to taking part in such an experiment and propose initiatives to improve their city.

To better understand what inhabitants would like for their city, EURACTIV travelled to Thessaloniki and asked citizens which projects they would like to finance if they were given a say on municipal spending.
